Are you an avid text messaging user? Are you passionate about evangelizing new and exciting products? Do you want experience marketing to teens and early adopters? 3Jam, an exciting startup in the mobile space, is looking for a summer intern or part-time contractor to help plan and execute marketing programs for an innovative new product.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in developing a strategic go-to-market plan, including target segmentation, brand positioning, consumer messaging and promotions plans.
- Manage execution of promotional plans including offline, online and word-of—mouth campaigns.
- Work with creative teams to develop compelling advertisements, collateral, and other promotional materials.
- Organize promotional events and contests that drive viral awareness.
- Project-manage and coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives with multiple partners.
- Perform analysis and review of campaign results and suggest and drive improvements.
- Contribute to new product feature development through user research.
Qualifications
- Heavy text messaging usage
- Experience with online communities (e.g., MySpace, Facebook)
- Enthusiasm for working with a small team on innovative products
- Great written and oral communication skills
- Familiar with viral marketing techniques and how to target influencers
- Creative thinking
- Strong analysis skills and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Project management experience
- Copy writing experience a plus
- Intern qualifications:
o Marketing coursework in graduate business program
- Part-time contractor qualifications:
o Minimum 3-5 years experience in consumer marketing
o BA required, MBA preferred
The position is based in San Francisco and Menlo Park, California.
Compensation is competitive commensurate with experience.
